The intercooler is a critical component on Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque models fitted with AJ200D, AJ20D4 and AJ21D4 Ingenium diesel engines. Its job is to cool the compressed air coming from the turbocharger before it enters the engine, improving combustion efficiency and protecting internal components. When an intercooler becomes blocked, leaks boost pressure or suffers internal contamination, intake temperatures rise sharply, leading to reduced power, poor fuel economy and increased engine stress.
